Cluster Eco-construction

As partner  of  BATID2 (www.batid2.eu), an Interreg IV A European project  aiming to strengthen sustainable construction sector  by developing professional networks between Belgium and France, the Cluster Eco-construction has charged « La Calestienne »NGO to organize a study tour in Vorarlberg.

BatiD 2 educates businesses, architects and independents in the construction sector in order to enable them to integrate sustainable development into their activities on both sides of the border. The means implemented to achieve this aim consist of technology watch, site visits, round tables, stimulating creativity, technical papers and guide for sustainable construction publication.

This project is a cross-border partnership between France and Wallonia with the following French regions or departments : the Nord, Aisne, Ardennes, Pas-de-Calais, Somme, Oise and the Marne; and in Wallonia, the provinces of Hainaut, Namur and Luxembourg. Operating partners are the BEP, Cluster Eco-construction, Ligne bois, CCI Ardennes and Nord Picardie Bois.

The study tour in Vorarlberg concerned about thirty professionals: mainly architects and heads of companies active in the construction and housing.

The study tour was organized thanks to the expertise of the Institute of Energy. It closes the program Interreg brilliantly and was particularly appreciated by the participants: they especially enjoyed the introduction lecture given by Harald GMEINER, head of the biology department and construction ecology, and high quality buildings and companies visited. Vorarlberg remains one of the (probably most) interesting area for all those interested in building and sustainable development.

Walloon cluster ecoconstruction wishes to reiterate this excellent partnership with the Energy Institute Vorarlberg.
